Arlander
Lowe
Jul 15, 1952 — May 22, 2026
Bro. Arlander Lowe was born on July 15,1952 to the late Minnie Collins and Sanders Lowe in Tulip Arkansas.
Bro. Arlander loved growing up in Tulip which he often called “The Woods or Stick City.” He was dedicated
to his community and took great pride in it. He would pick up trash from the street, grooming by mowing
and weed eating, making sure that it reflected how he felt about each and every person that lived there.
He would visit the sick in their homes as well as nursing homes, singing gospel songs and spreading the
good news about how good God is and encouraging you to keep your head up and never give up. He
wanted everyone to know that they were special no matter the circumstance. If you were ever around
him, you couldn’t help but notice his genuine smile, distinct voice and contagious laugh. He was well
known everywhere he went. That's because he was the true definition of a people’s person. He was a
talker, sure enough but it was always motivational and encouraging.
Bro Arlander loved his family and couldn’t say enough about them. He would often say that he was going
to have to plant another family tree because his current one was too full. He loved his wife and kids
undoubtedly but his grandchildren and great-grandchildren were his world.
He took pleasure in painting, woodwork and crafting pictures for everyone he came in contact with.
Bro. Arlander and his wife moved to Schertz, TX in 2023 to continue with his journey to recovery in which
God did just that. While there, he again never met a stranger, he would talk to any and everybody as if
he’d known them his entire life.
Bro. Arlander started his christian journey at Toones Chapel A.M.E. church until becoming a dedicated
member of True Believers Praise and Worship Sanctuary in Malvern AR, as well as San Antonio, TX. He
loved to sing and give God everything he had and he carried this legacy on till the end.
Bro. Arlander attended the Carthage School District until transferring to J.E. Wallace High School in
Fordyce, AR, where he graduated. He then went on to join the United States Army where he was honorably
discharged. He worked as a long time employee of Reynolds Metal Company, Georgia Pacific, and
International Paper. Lastly, retiring from Pine Bluff Arsenal.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father, 3 children (Chris Ross, Rosetta Walker and Tarrez
Lowe); Sisters: Shirley Penix, Roseanne Lowe, Sandra Lowe, and Caroline Mason; Brothers: James Lowe and
Sam Lowe.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 48 years, Janice Lowe; Daughters: Tanika Litzsey
(Michael) of Schertz, TX, Brittany Smith (Courtney) of Schertz, TX; Sisters: Doris Smith of Tulip, Ethel
McGough of Fort Worth, TX, Karen Harris (Author) of Little Rock, AR, Carrie Lowe of Little Rock, AR, and Angela Lowe; Brothers:

grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Also, the Lambert family that he was united with in
marriage for nearly half a century.
An Old Soldier's Prayer
I have fought when others feared to serve.I have gone where others failed to go.I've lost friends in war and strife,Who valued Duty more than love of life.I have shared the comradeship of pain.I have searched the lands for men that we have lost.I have sons who served this land of liberty,Who would fight to see that other stricken lands are free.I have seen the weak forsake humanity.I have heard the traitors praise our enemy.I've seen challenged men become even bolder,I've seen the Duty, Honor, Sacrifice of the Soldier. Now I understand the meaning of our lives,The loss of comrades not so very long ago.So to you who have answered duties siren call,May God bless you my son, may God bless you all.
