Charles Edward Owens, 53 of Malvern, Arkansas passed away peacefully on March 29, 2026, at Baptist Health Medical Center in Malvern.
Charles was born in Malvern and raised in Tulip, Arkansas. Charles dedicated nearly three decades of service to the Arkansas Department of Corrections. He began his career in October 1996 as a Correctional Officer at Cummins Unit. Through hard work and commitment, he rose through ranks, serving at multiple units including Pine Bluff, where he was promoted to Corporal in 2003, an the Ouachita River Correctional Unit, where he achieved the rank of Sergeant in 2025. He later served at the Benton and Wrightsville Unit before finishing his distinguished career with ADC Transportation Division on 2009.
Beyond his career, Charles was a devoted family man and pillar in his community. He servedas Worship Master of St Luke Masonic Lodge #23, Haggai #130, and JC White #203. He Found joy in cheering on the Dallas Cowboys, watching basketball, cooking meals for loved ones, traveling, and most of all, spending time with his grandchildren.
Charles will be remembered as a gentle, selfless, and hardworking man who always put family first. His strength, guidance, and unwavering love made him a true role model to all who knew him.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents: Hezkit and Pauline Owens; sister: Mary Davis.
Charles leaves to behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with his devoted wife, Cassandra Owens; his children: Katlyn (Davion) Williams, Rolanda (Justin) Clary, Jarvis Owens (Tyrisia), and Crista Owens; grandchildren: Rylee, Jayla, Jordon, Knox and Davion Jr. (DJ); siblings: Janice "Niecy" Owens, Tracey Clary and Antonio Owens. He also leaves a host of extended family and dear friends
