IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Darryl
Cadwallader
December 9, 1950 – February 1, 2025
Darrly D. Cadwallader, 74 of Hot Springs, Arkansas passed on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at The Blossoms - Hot Springs.
As I look back over Darryl's life, he had more challenges than most people and yet less than others. But it is how you handle those challenges that defines you as a person. Darryl's challenges started shortly after graduating from high school with honors. Going to a college party with some buddies, he was slipped 6 times the normal dose of LSD in a drink. The medical professionals were just getting acquainted with how to manage this drug. As time went on, he did find the love of his life and they were married 35 years until she passed away. Together they managed small, medium and huge apartment complexes for many years.
Though all the years, Darryl was always positive and upbeat. In retrospect, I do not remember him complaining about anything. He grew closer to God and became more religious with reading the bible constantly. He would always lend a helpful phrase of encouragement to whomever was having trouble or needed some kind words. His friends have said he was always there for them when they were having a bad time or a bad day. His dream after graduating from high school was to be a doctor. Although not realized by a certificate, he fulfilled his dream the best he could by caring for the people close to him.
After his wife passed away, he was mentally together enough to ask to be made a ward of the court as he was not able to care for himself. The after math of the overdose of LSD left his mind in a state that was not normal. He was happy with the place he ended up staying at and always spoke highly of the staff. He made a very good friend named Gerid. They had fun together and I feel Gerid will miss him. The weekend nurse Sue said he was always positive, helpful and Darryl would say prayers with her on days that were not the best.
Darryl is at peace now in God's hands. This earth was a better place with him in it. He now has joined his sister Darlene and our parents. We will miss him.
