Obituary

EricaElfreidaJackson, 54 of Monticello, ARwas born on December 22, 1962, in Monticello, Arkansas toWillie Earl and Shirley Ann Jackson. She was the oldest of three children and the only daughter. Erica accepted Christ at an early age and joined Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church in Monticello, Arkansas, under the leadership of Rev T.S. Skipper, where she remained a member until she graduated high school in 1981.

Erica was preceded in death by her grandparents, Dewitt and Elizabeth Freeman; Willie L. Everett, all of Selma, AR.

After high school Erica entered the Air Force where she served 30 years. During her military service Erica continued to serve God by serving her country and participating in religious activities at her stations. Erica was known and loved by many. She mentored a number of young people in her 30 years of service to the country being promoted to Chief Master Sergeant, the highest enlisted rank in the Air Force.

Chief Jackson entered the Air Force in April 1986 and reported Lackland Air Force Base, TX, where she attended basic military training. Upon completion, she entered the Bioenvironmental Engineering Technical Training School. She has been stationed at various locations Mississippi, Japan, Guam, Turkey, Florida, Georgia, Korea and New Jersey. Her background includes multiple duties in Bioenvironmental Engineering and contract management. She also served in support of Operations IRAQI FREEDOM, ENDURING FREEDOM and NEW DAWN as Theater Bioenvironmental Engineering Functional Manager, Combined Air and Space Operations Center, Air Force Central Command.
