George Wayne Hawk Hawkins was born on September 16, 1962 in Tulip, Arkansas to the late George and Martha Alvernia Watkins-Hawkins. He departed this life on January 7, 2021 at CHI St. Vincent in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Wayne joined Toones Chapel A.M.E under the leadership of the late W.E. Crudup and was dedicated until his death. He graduated from Carthage (Blue Devils) High School in 1980. After graduation, he joined the United States Army and served at .Fort Jackson, South Carolina and received an honorable discharge.
On October 23, 1982 Wayne married his Sunday School Sweetheart Deborah Walker Hawkins, and to this union three children were born. After wedlock he relocated to Leola, Arkansas until his death. In his leisure time he enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching sports, outdoor activities, spending time with his family, hanging out with his cousins and friends and being a Mason. He will be truly missed by all.
He was employed in the pulp wood industry, International Paper Company, Anthony Timberland, Toler Lumber Mill. He join the Arkansas Department of Correction- Ouachita River Unit in 2005, where he served for 15 years. He retired in 2020 with the rank of Corporal.
Preceding in death by two brothers: RC Hawkins, Jerry Hawkins and one sister Dora Lee Matlock.
He leaves to cherish his memories his loving and devoted wife of 38 years Deborah Hawkins of Leola, AR; son Dewayne Carmichael Hawkins (Melina); three daughters: Jannetha Vails (Alonzo Redmond) of Van Buren, AR, Siobhan Bonnie of Malvern, LaQuita of Pine Bluff,AR; one god-daughter Nakiah Henderson and family of Sparkman, AR; grandchildren: Vyshonna Redmond, Sharell, Danztler, Jahrell Morning, Marquanta and Elissia Nelson; one sister, Verna Jones of Tulip, AR; one brother, Ricky Watkins (Phyllis) of Bearden; three aunts: Eveline Juniel (George) of Victorville, CA, Annie Pearl Davis of Manchester, AR and Bernice (Will) of Jacinto, AR and a host of other family, friends and loved ones.
