IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Gloria Jean
Alexander
March 2, 1955 – September 11, 2017
Mrs. Gloria Jean Alexander entered into this world on March 2, 1955 to her loving parents, the late John Sr., & Willie Bea Aikens in Grand Lake, AR. Jean - as she was affectionately known peacefully entered into eternal rest on Monday, September 11, 2017. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, niece, friend and Child of God who accepted Christ as a young adult. Jean married John Thomas Alexander Sr. on January 29, 1976 and from this union they reared seven children. Being a full-time mom was one of her greatest accomplishments. She worked hard to make sure all of her children understood that Gods grace & mercy was sufficient and that He would see us through all things.
She was a member of the King James Missionary Baptist Church in Readland, AR under the leadership of the late Reverend Dr. A.L. Thomas and current pastor Reverend Louis Scott Sr. Jean continued growing her relationship in Christ as an active member of King James serving as Sunday school teacher & choir member for many years.
Jean loved to have a good time, she was happy singing Gospel, listening to the Blues, playing the piano, playing cards, working crossword puzzles, watching Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, cooking & baking (Sweet Potatoes & Jelly Cakes). Jean loved spending time with family, she would spend hours talking to family & friends on the phone or relaxing on the porch just chatting with Janie.
Those awaiting her arrival in heaven include her parents, John Sr. & Willie Bea Aikens, two brothers, an infant brother & Lee Gus Aikens; three sisters, Louise Spencer, Annie Mae Richardson, Janie Bennett and one grandson, Demaurion Keith Jr. Jean leaves to cherish her memories; her husband, John Thomas Alexander Sr., Eudora, AR and her seven children, John Thomas Alexander Jr, Little Rock, AR, Regina Antoinette (David) Shengulette, Rochester, NY, Toby Terrell Alexander Sr., Eudora, AR, Angela Renae Alexander, Fayetteville, AR, Adrian Pierre (Lacy) Alexander, Houma, LA, Robinette Alexander (Thomas) Eckers, Gallatin, TN, Tiffany Alexander (Patrick) Perry, Memphis, TN; Three sisters, Thara Mae (Robert) Randolph, Kansas City, MO, Betty Brown, Hot Springs, AR, & Delorise Aikens, Kansas City, MO; two brothers, Willie D. Aikens Sr. Little Rock, AR, John (Janie) Aikens Jr., Eudora, AR, twenty-one grandchildren and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.
Gloria Jean Alexanders journey was a life well lived, full of love and compassion for God and her family.
For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the Love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
