IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Hazel
Richardson
January 28, 1936 – November 11, 2025
Mrs. Hazel Richardson, 89 of Pine Bluff, Arkansas transitioned on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center. Hazel Marie Bruce was born January 28, 1936, in McCaskill, Arkansas. She was the seventh of seven children born to the late Alaska and Mary Lou Walker Bruce. At an early age she joined Goff Chapel C.M.E. Church in McCaskill. She graduated from Blevins Training School, Blevins, Arkansas in 1955. After high school she moved to Pine Bluff and joined Stewart Memorial C.M.E. Church, where she was a faithful member of the choir, Trustee Board and President of the Stewardess Board. At the time of Hazel's transition, she was the oldest member of the church where she never missed a Sunday. She was an active member of City-Wide Mission and The Ladies of the Bluff (Valentine Club). Hazel began working for Dr. Cleon Flowers in 1960. Her career there spanned more than 65 years — until her health began to decline in October 2025. She was the faithful wife of the late Herman Richardson. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers: Madison, James, and Jesse Bruce and three sisters: Gurtha Draper, Veora Dulaney, and Theora Burns. Hazel leaves cherished memories of a life well lived with three nieces, Annie Myrtle McWashington, Beverly (John) Lewis, Diane (Cornelius) Collins; two nephews, Dr. Donald (Joy) Bruce and Gary (Dorothy) Miller, and a host of other great nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and cherished coworkers. She also leaves special friends, Ruth Jackson, Margaret Smith, Woodrow Epting and Rev. Phyllis Hamilton, just to name a few of her Sunday evening people. I have reached the joys of heaven, I am one of the sainted band, To my head a crown of gold is given And a harp is in my hand. Samuel L. Vance & Sons Funeral Directors "The Epitome of Service"
