Obituary

Trustee Herman Ferrell Carter, Sr., was born May 15, 1955, to Lloyd, Sr. and Alice Carter. He entered into his eternal life on August 12, 2021.

He accepted Christ at an early age under the leadership of Reverend S. B. Scott at the Centennial Missionary Baptist Church (now Indiana Street Missionary Baptist Church). He remained a faithful member of Indiana Street Missionary Baptist Church, under the leaderships of Reverend L. K. Solomon, Pastor Emeritus and Reverend Brian L. Castle.

Herman worked in different capacities of the church. He was Chairman of the Trustee Board, sang in the Mens Choir, served as a Boy Scouts leader, and was a member of the Mens Sunday School Class.

His educational journey began at Indiana Street Elementary School. He attended Southeast High School and Pine Bluff High School where he graduated in 1973. He then went on to further his education by attending the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff where he graduated in 1977.

Herman worked for AP&L as a lineman for many years. He also worked for the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff as a Security Guard and Center for Youth and Family.

He was a caring and kind man. He loved his family and friends. He was the best brother one could ever have and there was not anything he would not do for his family. He will be dearly missed.

Herman married his loving wife, Clotee Carter, in 2009.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Lloyd Harold Carter, Jr.; maternal grandparents, Jim Washington and Dosha Silverman; paternal grandparents, Theo and Mamie Bennett; and granddaughter, Jada Anderson.

Left to cherish his legacy of love and precious memories: his loving and devoted wife, Clotee Gary Carter of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; two daughters, Kimberly Yvette Carter and Valerie Denise Anderson; three sons, Herman Ferrell Carter, Jr., Timothy Andrew Anderson, and Authur Ray Polk; one brother, Bobby Lane (Jacqueline K.) Carter; grandchildren, Miracle and Destiny Anderson; special nieces, LaTanya Femister and Kaliyah Rauls; and a host of cousins, relatives and friends.

1 Peter 5:7-Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
