Mother Irene Reedy Buckner "Ms.Pie" , 101 of Malvern , Arkansas transitioned from Labor to Reward on Sunday,April18,2021atBaptistHealthHospital-HotSpringCounty. Irene was born on January 19, 1920 in Whelen Springs, AR to the late John Reedy Sr and Beatrice Talley Reedy. Irene attended school in Clark County. She confessed a hope in Christ at an early age. On May 13, 1940 Norman and Irene joined together in Holy Matrimony, and were married for 42 years. Theyfaithfullyraisedninedaughters,twoprecededherindeath. After moving to Malvern in 1948 , Irene builther life around her family. She worked in private homes. Irene loved canning fruits and vegetables from her garden. She received her nickname for making the best homemade pies. She love working in her flower beds, sewing her quilt pieces and watching football. Her grandchildren were here pride and joy, shehadgiveneachtheirownspecialnickname. She united with Bethel A. M. E. Church, where she served on the Stewardess Board #1 and was the oldest member. Irene was preceded in death by her husband: Norman Buckner, Parents John Reedy Sr and Beatrice Reedy, her stepmotherTossieReedy;daughtersMonaLisaBucknerandWanda FayeLangford; siblings: Oline Reedy, Detroit Reedy, Mary Reedy, James B. Reedy, John Reedy Jr, and Allie Mae Buckner.
Irene beautiful memories will forever be cherished by her daughters: Willie Ollison, Malvern, AR,Eula Smith of Little Rock, AR., Earnestine Mitchell of Malvern ( Lawrence), Erma Mae McGhee of Little Rock, AR ( LaVoris), Debbie Buckner , Annette Johnson ( Kenneth), and Doris Reed-Johnson allofMalvern. Twenty -Four grandchildren, Forty-Two great-grandchildren, Fifteen great-greatgrandchildren, one great-great-great-grandchild, sister -in-law Liz Reedy andahostoffamilyandfriends.
