IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Janice Young -
Newburn
March 4, 1957 – May 10, 2023
Janice (Young) Newburn, the third child of Raleigh and Virginia Young, was born in Malvern, Arkansas, on March 4, 1957, and departed this life on May 10, 2023. Janice, also known as Jan, grew up in Malvern and attended Tuggle Elementary until the sixth grade and then integrated to the Malvern Public Schools where she graduated from Malvern High in 1975. Jan continued her education by completing courses at Malvern Vo-Tech presently known as Arkansas Three Rivers. Jan professed her faith in Jesus Christ at an early age, was baptized and united with First Baptist Vine under the Pastorage of Rev. Noble B. Russey. She was once a member of the FBC Junior Choir, Inspirational Choir, God's Matrons, and Sunday School Class#10. Jan was employed at First Step, Malvern, until her untimely death. Jan leaves behind her First Step Family whom she dearly loved. Jan was known for greeting everyone with the "hug" that she gave and wouldn't let go until she felt that you received her love. She was also known for her famous banana pudding that filled your stomach. Jan was preceded in death by her beloved father, Raleigh B. Young, Sr., and brother, Kirk D. Young. Jan leaves behind a lifetime of memories, laughs and love with her son, Alanda Tramaine Jones; mother, Virginia Young; brothers, Bobby (Helen) Young, Odis (Felicia) Young; sisters Teresa (Doyle) Napper, Marie (Alan) McClain; a special niece, Andrea Young, who was raised as a sister, and best friend, Pastor Beverly Hawkins. She also leaves behind eleven nieces and nephews, nineteen great nieces and nephews, and five great great nieces and nephews; and a host of relatives and friends. Time will be my friend, day will never end, summer, winter, spring or fall, won't have to come at all. Hope to see you there, where all the saints will be; ooh come and go with me. Samuel L.
