Obituary

Mr. Joseph Jackman, 33 of Little Rock, AR. transitioned on Wednesday, May 2,2019 in Little Rock, Arkansas.Joey came into this world, one foot first, nine minutes after his brother John on 12 March 1986 in Winston Salem North Carolina. He left us 21 May 2019. He started his life with a cleft lip and even after several surgeries bore a noticeable scar, it was an endearing feature of Joey that we all loved. Despite a strong dyslexia that inhibited his reading, he was highly intelligent, those lucky enough to be drawn into deep conversation with him could easily see how thoughtful, compassionate and exceptional he was. After graduating high school in 2004 he enlisted into the Air Force and was stationed at Little Rock Air Force Base. During his 7 years in the military he served 3 tours in Iraq. Joey received many awards including Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award with four Oak Leaf Clusters, Iraqi Campaign Medal with one Service Star, and Global War on Terrorism Medal. He received an Honorable Discharge in 2011 at the rank of Staff Sergeant. Joey is survived by his Jackman family; his parents Cindy and Bill; twin Brother John; his sister Jan; and especially, the love of his life, Sarah Maxim. If Joey could have seen himself through our eyes he would have seen what a truly remarkable soul he really was. He is, and will always be, missed and loved by all.
