Obituary

Julie Mae Brown-Hudson, affectionately called Mrs. Mae by many who knew and loved her, of North Little Rock, Arkansas was born to Dorothy Brown in England, Arkansas on October 10, 1956.

Growing up she attended grade school at Harris Elementary and went on to attend secondary school in Jacksonville. She graduated from Jacksonville High School in 1977. She went on to Lees School of Cosmetology and completed her coursework there becoming a licensed cosmetologist. Although she was no longer practicing, she was adamant about keeping her license active. Mrs. Mae believed in living life to its fullest and living it without regrets. One of her paths led her to the University of Arkansas Medical and Science Hospital as an Electrocardiography (EKG) Technician for 10 years. She retired due to illness in 2019.

Mrs. Mae accepted Christ as her personal savior at an early age and was baptized at the McAlmont Church of Christ. Experiences, life lessons, and her quest for the love of God eventually let her to the Rose City Community Church of Christ to fellowship with the saints there. He was active with several ministries and helped where needed until her health failed.

Her family meant the world her, and she took the responsibilities of the different roles she wore seriously. Everyone who knew Mrs. Mae knew she loved her children and grandchildren but those great grandbabies (GiGi babies )were her heart. She was a woman with a heart of gold but could also give you the business like no ones business.

Cooking was something that Mrs. Mae did not care to do often, but she was an exceptional cook. There were several dishes that were favorites too many but the one most requested at any family function, any special occasion, and/or work potluck was her famous beef or chicken spaghetti. If her spaghetti was not at the function, the function did not seem complete. She called them Maes-ghettis.

She enjoyed spending time with family but also enjoyed time with herself. If she was not with her family, Mrs. Mae could be found at a BINGO hall or casino. Surprisingly, Julie had a natural knack for knowing when to hold them and when to fold them.

Preceding her in death are her mother, Dorothy Lee Brown, and four brothers, Ernest Poole, Curtis Jackson, Willie Earl Brown, and Billy Wayne Brown.

Mrs. Mae leaves sweet lasting memories to be treasured by her husband, James L. Hudson of North Little Rock, Arkansas; two daughters, Latosha Ware and Lashondra Ware both of North Little Rock, Arkansas; two bonus daughters, Jamika (Derrick) Brown of Lithonia, Georgia and Jamie Hudson of Charlotte, North Carolina; one son, Leon Ware Jr. of North Little Rock, Arkansas; one bonus son, Bo Terrence Hudson of Little Rock, Arkansas; one sister, Linda Faye Brown of Little Rock, Arkansas; three brothers, Herbert L. Scott of North Little Rock, Arkansas, Michael Wayne Brown and David L. Thomas; three grandsons, Marquis D. Ware and Marlo (Karen) D. Ware-Jones Sr both of Eau Claire, Wisconsin and Molique D. Robinson of North Little Rock, Arkansas; two granddaughters, Kariba K. Harmon and Asharia Carter both of North Little Rock, Arkansas; four great-grandchildren (GiGi babies), Marlo D. Ware-Jones Jr., MLiyah D. Ware-Jones, MKyah D. Ware-Jones, and MKhari D. Ware-Jones all of Eau Claire, Wisconsin and a plethora of other family and treasured friends.

On Tuesday, January 11, 2022, Mrs. Mae answered the Masters call to come home. She will be missed deeply by her family and friends. We know that she will continue to watch over us until we are called to join her. Our cherished memories with her will keep us until then.
