Obituary

Larry Darnell Smith was born in Rosston, Arkansas to Jessie and Maud Eva Smith on June 8, 1951. The family lived there for a short time and moved to Malvern, Arkansas where Larry grew up as child. He attended Tuggle Elementary and Wilson High School. At the age of 17, Larry decided to go into the Armed Services. While in the Army, he achieved a SP4 Rating. He served in the Vietnam War as an Airborne Ranger. When he came back to the US he trained as a cook before he received an Honorable discharge. Larry used his skills as a chef and cooked for various large events that he sometime sponsored with promoters. Larry started a production company in the early 90s called Hometown Productions. This production company brought WWF Wrestling and Def comedy Jams to Arkansas; in addition to concerts and other various small productions.

Larry was an accomplished Black Belt. One of his favorite pass times was learning and teaching the martial arts to children and adults. Before moving back to Arkansas Larry lived in Queens, New York and worked for the VA. Larry loved people and worked in car sales for many years. He was also named as one of the Top Salesman.Larry became a disabled veteran and had to retire in 2012.

Larry leaves to cherish his memories Daughters: DeWeese Smith (Chris) Williams of Rancho Cucamonga, Kolonda King of Hot Springs,Arkansas and LaToya Jones of Queens, New York. Sons: Eric Smith of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Larry Smith, Jr. of Battlecreek, Michigan; Grandchildren: Jarron, Imani and Amaya Morgan, DeAnginae Webster, Elexus ( Cainan) Jordan, Nala and Nova Jordan, Keegan (Priscilla) Smith ,Tevaun Smith, Teondrae and Ari Bond , Jasmine Lash and Nekia Jones; Brother: Donald (Ann) Smith of Little Rock, Arkansas; Sister: Dianne Curry of Little Rock, Arkansas.
