Mattie B. Hudson was granted her wings on Wednesday, November 3, 2021. She was born on June 22, 1923 to the late Dolas F. and Mary (Haynie) Randall in Chidester, Arkansas. Mattie received her education in the Nevada County School District in Rosston, Arkansas. She confessed a hope in Christ at an early age and united with Whiters Chapel A.M.E. Methodist Church, Chidester, Arkansas.
Mattie married Reverend Hillis Gulley and to this union one son was born. She later married the love of her life Reverend Dennis Hudson and to this union two daughters was born. After moving to Malvern, she joined Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Malvern, Arkansas and later reunited with First Missionary Baptist Church Rockport, Malvern, Arkansas where she was a chartered member, Women Mission President, member of the Senior Choir and a Deaconess and later in life she united with East Moline Church of Christ, Malvern, Arkansas. She spent a lifetime in unselfish service for her Lord and Savior. Mattie built her life around her family she worked in private homes, she was a cook at A. A. Wilson High School, Malvern, Arkansas and Feather-lite Mfg. in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Mattie passions included canning, sewing, fishing, gardening, working in her flower beds and baking her famous Coconut Cake and fried apple and peach pies. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy. Mattie was a loving, compassionate and she would take anyone in her home that needed help. She always had a beautiful smile. Mattie was A For Real Woman.
Mattie was welcomed home by her parents Dolas and Mary Randall, her beloved husband Rev. Dennis Hudson, son: Thomas Gulley; Six brothers, Theodore ,Calvin, Hollis, Enree, Grady and Leroy Randall; Five sisters; Katherine Randall, Viola Taylor, Gracie Macon, Gladys Franklin and Nettie Jean Beasley. Although she is no longer with us in body, her irreplaceable spirit will live on in the hearts of her daughters: Beverly A. Lomack and Sandra J. Dendy of Malvern, Arkansas; son/nephew; Phillip (Mary) Randall of Mesquite, Texas, two sisters: Trudy Conley of Euclid, Ohio; Ella Mae Osler of Colton, California; three grandsons: Byron Gulley of Malvern, Arkansas and Lydell Gulley of Little Rock, Arkansas; Kevin (Cynthia) McClendon of Hot Springs, Arkansas; one granddaughter: Kimberly Scott of Malvern, Arkansas; two special great granddaughters: Mariah McClendon and India McClendon of Hot Springs, Arkansas. Special nephews; Larry Macon and Kenneth Redic. Special nieces; Darlene Fountain and Rosiland Thrasher. Eight great-grandchildren, Ten- great-great-grandchildren, a very special friend Mrs. Annie M. Pearson, an extended daughter, Catherine Latta. A host of nephews, nieces, cousins other church family, relatives and friends
