April 5, 1955 – December 14, 2022
Michael Hawkins was born to the late LC & Mattie Mae Hawkins on Tuesday, April 5, 1955 in Tulip, Arkansas. Michael attended Carthage High School. He was a logging contractor where he worked for more than 20 plus years. Early in his life he was a member of Toones Chapel AME Church in Tulip,Arkansas. Later on in life he and his wife started The Word Center Ministry in Malvern, Arkansas where he not only was a member, but also where he became co-pastor and minister of music. Michael dedicated his life to serving God and taking care of his wife. His hobbies were cooking, fishing, and golfing. Michael was a joy to be around and he was the type of person that when hesitated laughing, you couldn't help but fall out laughing even if you didn't know what you were laughing at. That was just the affect his spirit had on others around him. The Bible says in John11:25-26, Jesus told her, " I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying. Everyone who lives in me and believes in me will never die." So even though his physical body cannot inherit the Kingdom of God, his spirit is now with the Father and he is now at peace where everyday in his favorite day, Sunday. Michael is welcomed home by his parents: LC & Mattie Mae Hawkins; siblings: Linda Smith, Alice Hawkins, Guy Lynn Hawkins, Ellis Hawkins and Larry Hawkins. Those left to cherish memories are his wife of 38 years Pastor Beverly Hawkins of Malvern, Arkansas; children: Santanna (Jackie) Hawkins of Alexander, Arkansas, Jasmine Hawkins of Vancouver, Washington and Trinth Dupree of Las Vegas, Nevada; grandchildren: Jaden Hawkins, Daelyn Hawkins, Leixia Hawkins, Jacia Gilbert; Mother in-law: Florence Moore of Fordyce, Arkansas; sisters: Patricia (Charlie) Carr, Gale (Alvin) Terry, Felicia (Darryl) Talley, Rita (Shawn)Wesley; brothers: James Hawkins, Allen (Christy) Reese, Rex (Mona) Hawkins, Glen Hawkins, and Tracy (Deanna) Hawkins; and a host of other relatives and friends. You can call Him everyday, even when you can't find your way. He'll be there to supply your needs, He's the only true friend indeed; He's the greatest friend of all, have you heard? He's the greatest friend of all, have you heard? Samuel L. Vance & Sons Funeral Directors " The Epitome of Services "
