Ocsie was born on March 26, 1954, in Baxter, AR. She was the daughter of Anderson and Caretha Wimberly (preceded in death). Ocsie accepted Christ at a young tender age at Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church. She became a member of Calvary #1 Baptist Church where she served as Assistant Superintendent and Youth Teacher of Sunday School. She later continued her ministry of service as a true disciple and member of Tabernacle Baptist Church. Over the years, Ocsie held various positions that commemorates of life dedication and devoted for service. Ocsie worked various jobs and positions to include Pharmacy Technician, Delta Drugs Pharmacy; Volunteer, Emergency Management Team, and Home Nutritionist Program Manager, University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension Office (Chicot County) where she was also a very active 4H Leader for many children in the county. She also served with various city committees such as the Chamber of Commerce where she assisted with organizing a week of fun and entertainment for the citizens of Dermott, Arkansas. Ocsie continued to build a strong sense of community pride by assisting with coordinating town walk-a-thon events, annual parades, youth enrichment programs as well as a community garden. Over the years, Ocsie has been recognize and receive awards based on her true commitment to her family, career, and community to include being honored as the Woman of The Year. Ocsie was loved by everyone she ever encountered with her infectious smile and kind heart. She was always a joy to be around. She united in Holy Matrimony on November 21, 1998, to Civilian 'Vance' Barnes. They were happily married for 24 years. Ocsie was the very proud mother of four children: Herman Ford, Sonya Ford, Sandra (Ricky) Young, and Bradford Ford. Her children were the apple of her eyes. Ocsie's siblings include Herman Randolph (preceded in death), Juanita Wimberly, William Wimberly, Rozena Wimberly, Julia Harden, Bella Wimberly, Almeda Giles (Lorenzo) and Wilbert Wimberly. Ocsie was the proud grandmother of 6 grandchildren Amber, Quinterius, Jimmetrius, Braden, Ryan, Reagan, and her great-grandchildren Lauren and Hendrix. She was gifted her special children: Lisa (Carse) Barnes, Stephanie (Wayne) Matthews, and Napoleon Staggers. She leaves to cherish her memory a host of Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, In-laws, and Friends. But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body.
