Obituary

Randolph Mathews was born to the late John Mathews and Georgia Ross on October 27, 1939. He departed his earthly home on November 7, 2021. Randolph was the 10th child out of 11. He was preceded in death by all 4 brothers and 4 sisters, his wife of 32 years Mildred (Laverne) and step son Kevin Brown.

Randolph accepted christ at an early age at Enon Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Hall. He graduated from Calhoun County High School where he played basketball in 1959. He then became a mechanic at Georgia-Pacific where he was employed for 20 years. During this time he married Betty Lea and to this union a daughter was born (Lisa). They remained married for 14 years.

He later went on and had another daughter (Christina) with a special friend Carol Dunn. Randolph moved to Las Vegas where he married Mildred McCamey whom he remained married to until her death in 2013. He was employed at Nevada test site for 21 years.

Once retired he moved to Fordyce, Arkansas and became a member of Mt. Tabor Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Waller where he served faithfully until his health began to fall. He served on the Deacon Board, Trustee Board, Male Chorus andMass Choir. He was a member of the Rainey Hunting Club for a few years and was also a member of the New Fordyce Club.

He leaves to cherish his memories two daughters: Lisa Mathews (Maumelle), Christine Mathews (Fordyce), one stepdaughter Lotus Brown (Chicago), two sisters Mabel Webb and Ann Hill (Las Vegas), one Bro-in-Law Henry McCamey (Kingsland). Three granddaughters: Avianna (Sherwood), Kilah (Fordyce) and Deasia (Chicago),one grandson; Makiel (Chicago), three great-granddaughters; Aubree, Gia and Paitlyn (Sherwood). A close friend Wanda Jordan (Memphis) and a host of nieces, nephews and friends,

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble (2 Corinthians 1:3, 4).
