Santiago " Sandy " Martinez was born April 12, 1943 to the late Luis Martnez & Usebia Lorcoto in Santa Maria del Rio, San Luis Potosi (Mexico) Sandy was a longtime resident of Leola, Arkansas. He Departed this life on July 22, 2023 at Saline Memorial Hospital in Benton, Arkansas Sandy was of the Catholic Faith and was supportive of Toones Chapel. On October 23, 2001 Santiago married Carolene Walker and remained faithful until his death. Santiago worked for W.W. Allen Trucking and later gained employment with his son Gayle Allen since 1983 and was a dedicated ranch worker in Leola. Santiago also preformed other miscellaneous work for his supervisor as needed. He had a passion for working with horses and livestock. In his leisure time he was always busy and was a true handyman. Santiago loved outdoors activities such as hunting and being in his garden. He grew the best peas and tomatoes. He was blessed with a green thumb. Santiago enjoyed spending quality time with his family. He was very humble. Santiago was preceded in death by his parents, Ortha Della Walker (Mother In-Law) and Edward Walker (Father In-Law); and many other love ones. Santiago leaves to cherish his memories his loving faithful wife of 21 years; Carolene Martinez of Leola, Arkansas; siblings: Francisco, Antonia and Mariana Martinez; caregiver: Laugretta, Carmichael and Bonnie. He also leave behind in-laws, a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
