Shamya
Gulley
Apr 18, 1994 — May 5, 2026
Shamya Nicole Gulley, 32, of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, departed this life on May 5, 2026, in Camden, Arkansas. Shamya was born on April 18, 1994, to Odessa Clary and Michael Gulley.
Shamya leaves behind countless memories filled with love, laughter, a little chaos, and the kind of personality that is impossible to ignore. Shamya was a loving mother, devoted partner, cherished daughter, sister, family member, and friend whose kindness and spirit touched many lives. At an early age, Shamya accepted Christ and was baptized at Motley Chapel Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Wiley Shelton. She loved fiercely, spoke honestly, and occasionally kept family and friends on their toes with her unforgettable Facebook posts. Life challenged Shamya in many ways, but determined to keep pushing forward, she proudly earned her GED in El Dorado, Arkansas. She later worked faithfully at Mac’s in Camden, Arkansas, until her health began to fail.
Shamya was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Odell and Irene Clary; her paternal grandparents, Henry Lee and Clara Mae Gulley; and her uncle, Bernard Clary.
Shamya leaves to cherish her precious memories five beautiful children: Kylynn Sellars, Kenneth Oglesby III, Karson Gulley, Kamaya Richards, and Kaison Richards; mother, Odessa Clary of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, with whom she shared a special bond and many unforgettable moments together; father, Michael Gulley of Camden, Arkansas; partner, Patrick Richards of Camden, Arkansas; sisters, Shacora (Thomas) Hopkins of Pine Bluff, Arkansas and Lydia Gulley of Maryland; godfather, Cedric Wade of Fordyce, Arkansas; first cousin, Aimee (Kevin) Rozier; uncles, Doyle Clary and Aundra Clary of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; along with a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory. Though Shamya’s time with us was far too short, she reminded us that even through life’s challenges, love could still shine through. Her memory will live on through every laugh shared, every story told, and every person fortunate enough to have known and loved her.
Miss me a little, but not for long
And not with your head bowed low
Remember the love that once we shared
Miss me, but let me go.
For this is a journey we all must take
And each must go alone.
It's all part of the master plan
A step on the road to home.
When you are lonely and sick at heart
Go to the friends we know.
Laugh at all the things we used to do
Miss me, but let me go.
