IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Tavorrye Malik
Whitaker-Lemons
March 26, 1996 – April 29, 2020
Mr. Tavorrye Malik Whitaker-Lemon, 24 of Hot Springs, Arkansas transitioned on Wednesday, April 29, 2020. Tavorrye was the oldest child born to Shantea Whitaker and the late Ernest Lemons Jr. on March 26, 1996 in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Tavorrye accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Union Missionary Baptist Church. He was a child who loved to be outside and living at the Boys & Girls Club. Tavorrye like looking out and taking care of his younger brother Keaston. One time in particular he cooked two T-Bone Steaks and Bake Potatoes for their lunch at the Boys Club. It was there he developed a passion for boxing under the late Coach Willie McCoy. He attended Hot Springs World Class High School until his Tenth Grade Year and later went to Lakeside High School for a semester before returning to Hot Springs, AR. Tavorrye moved to Las Vegas, NV at the beginning of his eleventh grade year with his cousin Cedric Allen. It was there he was introduced to Floyd Mayweathers Junior Boxing League called TMT or The Money Team. When he was supposed to be attending school, it was discovered boxing and gym time conflicted, so he dropped out of school to become an Amateur Boxer. Tavorrye was preparing to turn Pro when his opponent dropped out after reviewing Tavorrye prior fight. He returned to Hot Springs, Arkansas just a few months ago. Tavorrye untimely passing has left an unexplained void in the hearts of his mother: Shantea Whitaker; brother: Keaston Thomas; girlfriend and mother of his beautiful daughter Keirra Jenkins; daughter; Kaylani MyteElla Whitaker-Lemons and a host of other relatives.
The Boxer
The Boxer stands alone tonight. There are no crowds to cheer him on. There are no opportunities to pass him by. The Boxer stands alone tonight. His head is bowed, no longer strong. His heart no longer knows what's right. The Boxer stands alone tonight. He can't remember for how long. He can't remember what it felt like to live carry on to be strong to fight.
The Boxer stands alone tonight. There is no one here to hear him cry, alone in the ring, as baroque music flies through the air; through his soul, and at last lets him sleep. There is not a soul left there that cares to cheer him on; When he passes, there is no one left that deigns to weep.
