Velton Louis Block, 74 of Malvern, Arkansas was born on January 25, 1949 in Hot Springs, Arkansas to the late Andy Block Sr. and Odessa Parker Block. He departed this life on September 3, 2023 at CHI St. Vincent Hospital in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Velton was the 12th of 16 children born to Andy Sr. and the 11th of 15 for Odessa Block . Velton attended Goldstein School in Hot Springs, Arkansas as a child he attended St. Paul Baptist Church where he was baptized. Velton was a quiet person who kept to himself and loved his independence. In 1972 he moved to Malvern, Arkansas after the death of his mother. Velton resided in Malvern until his death. He was preceded in death by his wife and companion of about 40 years Tootie Block; parents: Andy Sr. and Odessa Block; brothers: Edward, Rogers, Cleotis, Andy Jr. and Eugene Block; sisters: Sarah Hunter, Suzanne Jones, Alelia McAfee, Juanita Vaughn, Ruth, Odessa, Shirley and Glenmarine Block. He leaves to cherish his memory sister: Ethel Block Glover of Texarkana, Arkansas; brother: Henry Block of Pfafftown, North Carolina and a host of nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. Also the caretakers who took care of him after the death of his wife, Mrs. Patricia Ivory and Mrs. Young. Lift my eyes to the hills – where does my help come from?
