IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Wanda Ruth Blackmon -
Davis
November 9, 1953 – August 20, 2025
Wanda Ruth Blackmon Davis was born on November 9, 1953, in Malvern, Arkansas, to the late J.W. Blackmon, Sr. and Johnnie Mae Blackmon. She was the third of eight children and grew up in a close-knit, loving family. From an early age, Wanda gave her life to Christ, a decision that shaped the way she lived with kindness, compassion, and a heart for serving others. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend, always putting the needs of others before her own.
Wanda spent 27 years working as a licensed practical nurse in Malvern and Hot Springs. Her gentle spirit and caring hands touched the lives of countless patients and their families, many of whom still share stories of the comfort and care she gave. At home, Wanda poured the same love and dedication into her family. She was a devoted wife to Donnie Davis, Sr. and a proud, nurturing mother to their five children: Terrica, Donnie Jr. "Britt", Omar, Darius, and LaDonna. Wanda worked tirelessly to ensure her family not only had what they needed, but also felt deeply loved and cared for. Her greatest joy was in seeing her children thrive. As her children grew more independent, Wanda found peace and joy in gardening. She transformed her home on Clark Street into a place of beauty and serenity. Neighbors often admired her flower beds, lush ferns, and vibrant greenery, each plant thriving under her tender care. Her "green thumb" was more than a gift-it was an extension of her nurturing spirit, bringing life and beauty wherever she planted.
On Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at 4:00 a.m., Wanda peacefully began her heavenly journey. She was welcomed into eternity by her beloved husband, Donnie Britten Davis, Sr.; her sons, Omar Rashad Davis and Darius JaMeel Davis; and her brothers, Reginald and Ronald Blackmon. She leaves behind her loving children: Terrica Davis of Malvern, AR, Donnie "Britt" Davis, Jr. (Rita) of San Antonio, TX, and LaDonna Davis of Bessemer, AL. She is also survived by her siblings: Richard Reed (Sherry) of Bryant, AR, Teresa Bush (Rob) of Little Rock, AR, John Blackmon (Artie) of Little Rock, AR, Michael Blackmon of Malvern, AR, and Donald Blackmon of Little Rock, AR. Wanda's legacy continues through her many grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a host of family and friends who will forever cherish her memory. Wanda Ruth Blackmon Davis lived a life full of love, service, and faith. Her kindness, strength, and grace will continue to live on in the hearts of everyone who knew her.
Trust in God's Plan By Kelly Roper
It's hard to understand Why God takes those we love. Does He need them more than we do, In Heaven up above
No one on earth can pretend To know what's in God's plan. All we can do is take it on faith And trust we'll see our loved ones again.
