Obituary

Sis. Betty Jean Dupree Griffin born June 6, 1956 to the late Lenge Sr. and Clementine Hunter Dupree Sr. in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Sis. Betty was full of life, love, and laughter. She cherished her family and friends whom, she has touched throughout her years of life with a tender heart, soothing love, and great smile that could brighten a damp day. Betty loved to worship the Lord. One of her favorite places to be was in the House of the Lord.

Sis. Betty attended the Benton Public Schools.

Sis. Betty was employed with the State of Arkansas as an Certified Nursing Assistant with Arkansas Health Center doing what she loved doing the most helping care for others. Betty was a wonderful CNA who took pride in making sure that her patients felt loved, received the best care and made sure they knew they had a friend in her. She later retired after completing 12 years of service at Arkansas Health center.

Sis. Betty attended church from childhood until the Lord called her home. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She was a member of True Believers Praise and Worship Sanctuary. she was baptized by Bishop Chris Penix and her brother Elder Marcus Goodman. She recently attended Unity Church of God in Christ in Hot Springs, Arkansas under Pastor Tyron Burnell.

Sis. Betty was preceded in the death by her Husband: Larry Griffin; Parents: Lenge Dupree Sr. & Clementine Hunter Dupree Goodman; Stepfather: Leron Goodman; Grandparents: OT Hunter, Lauree Robinson Hunter Hearn; Step-grandfather Ivory Hearn; Sisters: Bertha Dupree & Diane Dupree; Brother: Paul Dupree; Uncles James, John, and Paul Hunter; Bonus Child: Tina Winn.

Those left to cherish her memories include her Son: Ronald (Lyshonda)Dupree of Benton, Arkansas; Daughter: Chekela Griffin Johnson of Hot Springs, Arkansas; Bonus Child: Amanda Griffin Butler of Little Rock, Arkansas; Brothers: Lenge (Patricia) Dupree Jr. of Sacramento California, David Ellis Sr. of Malvern, Arkansas, Elder Marcus(Sonja) Goodman of San Antonio, Texas. Sisters: Aletha Anderson of Wrightsville, Arkansas, Arlette (John) Hill of Malvern, Arkansas, Elaine Moore of Malvern, Arkansas; Aunts: Mayme (Clint) Roberson of Malvern, Arkansas, Ollie Hunter of Benton, Arkansas; Grandsons: DeVante Griffin of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Jahkery (Quinella) Dupree of Benton, Arkansas, Darion Matlock of Malvern, Arkansas, Jalen Dupree of Benton, Arkansas; Great Granddaughters: Indiya  Dupree, Journee and NaRiya Matlock.
